10 Year Guarantee

Stonescript guarantees all new work for a period of 10 years, from the date of the completion invoice, against craftsman defects or faulty natural materials, providing the final payment for the work has been made in full. Any defects in new memorials i.e. gravestones or headstones will be rectified, repaired or replaced.

Stonescript guarantees the fixing of all new headstones using a ground anchor system which is compliant with cemetery regulations and as such guarantees stability of the headstone for 10 years, provided that the fault is not as a result of damage caused by problems beyond our control, eg. adverse weather, subsidence, vandalism or as a result of any act by any third party. Memorials and tablets in churchyards are fixed to Exeter Diocese Churchyard regulations.

Stonescript recommends that all customers take out an insurance policy, such as Stoneguard UK, underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance Plc, which covers accidental damage to the memorial stone, including, malicious damage/vandalism, theft or attempted theft, subsidence, impact and storm.

Paint guarantee:

Upright memorials: 

• Paint of any colour guaranteed against peeling and flaking for up to 5 years.
• Gold leaf guaranteed against peeling or flaking for up to 2 years.

Memorials flat or recumbent in ground or on a base: 

• Paint of any colour guaranteed against peeling and flaking for up to 2 years. 
• Gold leaf, not covered and not recommended.

Any pre-existing stone work cannot be warranted.
